CELEBRATING 50 YEARS!

The ROGERS COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY (RCHS) is a non-profit organization of community volunteers dedicated to preserving the heritage and landmarks of Rogers County, Oklahoma, in the cities of Claremore, Verdigris, Oologah, Foyil, Inola, and Chelsea. These places are unique to the history of Indian Territory, Oklahoma statehood, and our modern history. The RCHS has been instrumental in past restoration efforts of the Old Will Rogers Library, now the Claremore Museum of History where the Lynn Riggs Memorial is housed, and the Will Rogers Hotel on Historic Route 66. Both of these iconic building are located in Claremore. We currently curate Totem Pole Park in Foyil/Chelsea and the beautiful Belvidere Mansion in Claremore. We invite you to join us and become part of our story.

Historical Society meetings are scheduled the last Monday of each month at 6 pm (except for December and during the current pandemic). These meetings are open to the public and feature a variety of speakers who discuss topics of local and/or historic interest. Guests are welcomed, and you are cordially invited to bring friends.

ED GALLOWAY'S TOTEM POLE PARK

The Rogers County Historical Society has completed a major restoration project of the Large Totem Pole at Ed Galloway's Totem Pole Park. Last restored in the 1990s, the paint of the largest totem pole was peeling and the underlying concrete was deteriorating. With donations from our generous supporters, the painting of the large totem pole has been refreshed.

We celebrate each year with the annual Totem Pole Park BBQ and Music Fest fundraiser. Along with Ed Galloway's sculpture features, the park also includes a gift shop & museum, nature trails, and a pet park.

Admission is free. The park is open year round, 7 days a week, from dawn to dusk. The Fiddle House Gift Shop & Museum are open daily, March through December, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, weather permitting.
